Lake Placid

It was a dark and stormy night...well, no, actually it was a hot and sunny day. Really hot. Very sunny. Not much wind. It was the Yang to the Yin of 2003. While I don't recall ever feeling like I couldn't finish, I do clearly recall extremes of emotion. From the near panic in the furor which was the start in the water, to the heights of ecstasy as I overcame fear and apprehension and rocketed down to the Keene Valley. Instead of thinking I'd never do this again, I spent long stretches of time planning the next one. At the end there was my family and my daughter. After 10 hours and 58 minutes, it was a perfect finish.
